5G Rollout Expected to Drive Hiring in Telecom Sector
The rollout of 5G is expected to lead to increased hiring in the telecom sector in 2023, according to staffing and recruiting company NLB Services.
The expansion of the high-speed service will have a “compounding impact” on recruitment for both non-niche and technical skills, with demand for specialized telecom technology talent increasing by nearly 20% in 2022 compared to the previous year.
NLB Services also predicted that other sectors, such as healthcare, retail, manufacturing, and automotive, will also look to recruit tech talent to take advantage of the capabilities offered by 5G. Data scientists and cybersecurity professionals are among the key profiles in non-telecom sectors.
The company stated that there has been a 15-20% rise in demand for technology talent in telecom and allied sectors over the past year, with this trend expected to continue, reaching a new record of 25-30% in the coming year.
